The project objectives are (1) to improve the way Colorado engages schools and districts in creating and updating high-quality EOPs and (2) expand local capacity through coordinated regional trainings on EOPs. The challenge is how to reach rural and small public, non-public and charter schools and provide coordinated training. This groups supports the North Central, Northwest, Northeast, Southeast, and Pikes Peak regions.

CDE requests school districts time and expertise in completing an assessment on school emergency management. This request is a part of the School Emergency Management (SEM) grant received by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). The School Emergency Management grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. The grant requires CDE to ask districts to complete a self-assessment to establish a baseline to better understand the components of Colorado’s emergency managing planning processes. Read more »
